MOTOR CYCLE SECTION

The motorcycle section is affiliated to the Federation of British Police Motor Clubs. Members can enter a series of events held over various weekends around the UK throughout the summer known as treks. These treks are navigational scatter events where participants have to plot clues on ordnance survey maps then visit the clues and attempt to find the correct answer. Essentially they are very large treasure hunts which afford members the opportunity to ride around various parts of the UK which these otherwise might never get to see. There are four such treks held every year and point accumulated in the events count towards a riders final position in the national championship. Accomodation is usually in high quality hotels with the opportunity to socialise in the evenings over the trek weekend.
As well as the treks members of the club can also benefit from various discounts and many ride outs are organised throughout the year on an ad-hoc basis.
Details are available on the clubs help screen RH NPMC

SQUASH SECTION

In April 2011 Northumbrias squash section had 3 players who successfully qualified for the National Championships which were hosted in Cheltenham.

All 3 players acquitted themselves very well, with Russell Hunter finishing as runner up in the veterans competition after losing a very closely contested final against an England ranked player.

Stephen Prested lost his first round match and then won a further 3 matches before losing the Plate final 3-2 in another closely contested match.

Jamie Southwell won his first match before losing his next match to the second seeded player.

Russell has managed to win this competition in the previous 2 years and has since represented the British police at the quadrangular tournament in September 2011 playing matches against the Civil Service, Fire Service and Armed Forces.

Both Jamie and Stephen represent the Northumbria Blues squash team who are currently playing in the Northumbria premier league.  The Blues have had a very good start to the season, winning three of their first 4 matches, with both players acquitting themselves well and winning three games each so far.
