'NE Dive Buddies' is a new 'not-for-profit' diving club formed to promote scuba diving in the north-east.
The aims of the club are simple. To co-ordinate diving opportunties all year round, facilitate social events for divers and their families and promote positive diving experiences in a friendly supportive environment.
'NE Dive Buddies' is not directly affiliated to any diving centre & welcomes divers from all organisations who wish to meet & dive with like-minded fellow divers within the region & have increased opportunity for diving & social activity.
Membership benefits (for a small annual subscription, payable monthly ) include access to diving information & other members with whom to dive both locally & further afield & discounts at local diving retailers are being negotiated for club members for air fills & equipment, for example.
Winter diving excursions to places such as Capernwray, Ellerton Lake, Haweswater & Stoney Cove are proposed when sea diving isn't available.
We regularly visit dive sites off the Northumberland & South East Scottish coastlines & in the longer term will propose short diving breaks to the Isle of Bute & Oban as well as to destinations abroad.
PADI training courses can be arranged through the club.
